On July 19, Nanjing Science and Technology Bureau announced the “2022 Life and Health Science and Technology Special Project”, a medical-industrial project called“Removable partial denture intelligent manufacturing system and clinical application” jointly declared by Chamlion Technology, Nanjing Stomatological Hospital, and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics was listed.

Removable partial dentures are one of the main repair methods for dentition defects at present. However, the domestic removable partial dentures are still manufactured by traditional techniques and highly dependent on the personal experience of technicians. Some developed regions had introduced 3D printing technology, but 3D printing equipment and consumables are expensive and the cost of operation and maintenance are much higher. Chamlion Technology realized that the intelligent design and manufacture of removable partial dentures will effectively fill in the localization of dental 3D printing software and hardware, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the dental industry to a systematic, digital and intelligent approach.

Chamlion Technology is a national high-tech enterprise incubated by the Institute of Additive Manufacturing, NUAA, which solves dentistry problems such as high cost of 3D printing equipment, short maintenance cycle, and no localized software.

In recent years, oral diseases have been listed as one of the three key diseases in the world for prevention and treatment. China has also successively issued a number of policies to vigorously promote the development of oral health. “Removable partial denture intelligent manufacturing system and clinical application” as a medical-industrial cooperation project will give full play to the technical advantages, resource advantages and platform advantages of the three parties, and will jointly explore the new model of integration of the oral medical clinical application and 3D printing industry. We aim to promote the transformation and development of the oral medical industry in China and the whole world to the future of informatization, digitization, networking and intelligence.
